Swim Lessons

Our goal is to serve the community as a resource in aquatics education and water safety through student-centered swim instruction. Children learn and practice new swim skills that last a lifetime.  Swim evaluations during week one ensure proper class level placement. Lessons are offered at our Fairless Hills and Newtown locations.

PARENT & CHILD GROUP LESSONS

30 Minute Lessons

Shrimp & Kipper
 | Water Discovery for age 6 to 18 months
Introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment, so to provide a positive family aquatic experience. 

Inia & Perch | Water Exploration for age 19 to 36 months
Focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles and fundamental safety and aquatic skills.

Perch Plus | Swim Basics for age 21/2 to 5 years
Equivalent to our Turtle level, but with a parent. Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with a parent.

            

PRESCHOOL GROUP LESSONS

30 Minute Lessons

Turtle | Water Acclimation
 for age 3 to 5 years
Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills; meant for first-time swimmers or swimmers who are not yet comfortable in the water with full support and or flotation. 

Pike | Water Movement for age 3 to 5 years
Focuses on forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently; meant for beginner swimmers who are comfortable swimming 5 ft with reduced or support flotation.

Eel | Water Stamina for age 3 to 5 years
Develops intermediate self-resuce skills performed independently; meant for beginner swimmers who are able to swim 5 yards, tread water for 10 seconds and float on their back for 10 seconds with minimal flotation support. 

Ray | Stroke Introduction for age 3 to 5 years
Introduces basic stroke technique in freestyle and backstroke and reinforces water safety; meant for swimmers who are able to swim 10 yards on front/back and can tread water for 30 seconds. 



SCHOOL-AGED LESSONS

45 Minute Lessons

Polliwog | Swim Basics
 for age 6 to 12 years
Focuses on the "Safety Around Water" skills; meant for first-time or beginner swimmers.

Guppy | Stroke Introduction for age 6 to 12 years
Introduces basic stroke technique in front crawl/ back crawl and reinforces water safety; meant for swimemrs who are able to swim 15 yards front/back crawl and can tread water for 1 minute. 

Minnow | Stroke Development for age 6 to 12 years
Builds on endurance and introduces breastroke and butterfly and reinforces water safety; meant for swimmers who are able to swim 15 yards front crawl with side breathing, 15 yards backstroke, 15 yards elementary backstroke and 15 yards breastroke and butterfly kick.

Flying Fish | Stroke Development for age 6 to 12 years
Refines stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and reviews resting strokes; meant for swimmers who are able to swim 25 yards freestyle, 25 yards backstroke, 25 yards elementary backstroke and 25 yards breaststroke.

Stroke/Turn Technique for age 6 to 12 years
Designed to help swimmers prepare for swim team. Learn stroke drills and techniques for effective turns for all 4 competitve strokes. Swimmers should successfully complete Flying Fish or demonstrate 50 yards of Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke and 25 yards of basic Butterfly.



  

TEEN SWIM LESSONS

         30 Minute Lessons

         for age 12 to 17 years

         Introductory class for young adults. Focus is on water acclimation, self confidence, swimming skills and
         stroke development.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Four 30 Minute Lessons

QUICK START SWIM LESSONS

Prepare your child for summer swimming. Our Quick Start Swim Program is four times a week. The accelerated swim program gets your child ready for summer.
Ages 3-5 and 6-13. Check out the Program Guide for each location times!
