Water Fitness Classes

water fitnessRAquatics fitness programs are offered for adults at a variety of levels including low-impact Arthritis Aquatics deep water workouts. A listing of seasonal offerings is below. Check our current brochure for schedules and current offerings.

Aquacize | This class uses a variety of movements to create resistance training to give you a full body workout. Aquacize will help tone and strengthen muscles with medium cardio exercises while insuring lower impact on joints with the support of the water. 

Arthritis | Endorsed by the National Arthritis Foundation, this class is designed to help reduce stiffness, pain and improve or maintain joint flexibility. Meets recommended water temperature of 84-88 degrees.

Deep Water Workout | Includes medium to high level aerobic activity, low to no stress on the joints. Belt must be worn to ensure proper body positioning to maximize the efficiency of the workout. Participants do not need to know how to swim, but should feel comfortable in the water. 

Pi-Yo-Chi | Aqua Pi-Yo-Chi is a fusion of Yoga poses, Pilates exercises and Tai Chi movements to help increase overall health and wellness. This class will help with core strength, balance, flexibility and includes relaxation of the body and mind.

Aqua Dance | The aqua dance program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Come out, dance and have fun in the pool! 




Age 18+ | Weekly 30-minute lessons
A variety of aquatics programs at the Y are offered for older teens and adults. Swim lessons are offered in an adult group setting for older teen and adult beginners. Focus on water acclimation, self-confidence and fundamental swimming skills along with basic stroke development. Instructor focuses on each individuals needs.




Age 18+ |  National program for experienced swimmers designed to improve times, starts, turns and strokes. All participants have the opportunity to enter into Master's level meets.
