VETERANS WELLNESS PROGRAM

Gain Support and Community with Others

 

We thank Veterans for their service abd want to offer our resources at the Y to help those looking to refoucus their efforts on improving mind, body and spirit. Veterans of all ages and abilities who are looking to get back to a healthier lifestyle are encouraged to join our next group.

OUR PROGRAM
FREE 8-week program for veterans and their spouses who are looking to get back to a healthier lifestyle. Program includes access to the facility and guidance from Y staff and trainers. Participants receive a FREE 6-month adult membership after successful completion of the program.

OUR CAUSE TO ACTION
We greatly thank Veterans for their service and want to offer our resources at the Y to help those looking to refocus their efforts on improving mind, body, and spirit. Yearly alumni retreat further enhances camaraderie amongst past and current participants.

VETERANS GIVING BACK
Veterans also give back to the community by volunteering for service projects including delivering Meals on Wheels, participating in food drives, building model planes with children during Christmas time and placing flags on the graves of fallen soldiers.

COMMUNITY IMPACT
• Since the Veterans Program launched in November 2015, 63 veterans have been impacted.
• In 2016, Lisa Schwartzer and Matt Kinsey
received the Seven Seals Award recognizing their “meritorious leadership and initiative in support of the men and women who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve”.
